We have a couple of potbellies at our country home. Do they fall into the category of exotic animals? Do I get coverage to protect these animals if they fall into such a category?

I think so. Potbellies are neither cats nor dogs. Pet insurance in general is meant to cover the needs of cats or dogs. Exotic pets will need a different type of health insurance to cover for their special care needs.

Health care needs for exotic pets could be expensive to cover since such needs could be specific to certain species. It's also important for you to understand how such coverage would work with your pet.

You should take good care of your pigs. I agree that they are popular pets, but they're quite susceptible to digestive as well as respiratory problems.
