Hi everyone I am a new member here. I will be 63 this month. I live on $1011. No I don't get welfare or medicad or medicare. I draw a widows pension. My husband died in Dec. I couldn't afford the utilities for my home. I had a small piece of land I was able to sell for $10,000. With that I bought me a 35ft traver trailer with 2 slides. I have it parked in my daughters back yard. That is where I live. We were self employed for 25 years. I worked my tail off just like my husband did. Not a single cent of the SS we paid counted on me. It all went to my husband. He got unable to work when he was 60. He went to apply for desibilty benifets. They told him if he could hold out until he was 62 it would be better. So he waited 2 years. But by this time he could work very little. So they counted the benifits on the last 4 quarters and they were small. After the battle he finely got the SSA. I started having blood pressure problems at 25. Before I even thought about health insurance. Then it was to late. I couldn't get insurance with a prexsisting illness. At 38 I had my first heart attack. The docter said I didn't need to work. I thought if I had a job that wasn't phisical it would be ok. So I took the H&RBlock classes and got a job. The first tax season I ended up in the hospital because of a stress attack. Someone had thrown a chair across the lobby. To make a long story shorter I do without medical'

Welcome Pinner! Glad you're here.

Did you have any particular questions, or were you just introducing yourself to the forum? We'd be happy to help if you have anything specific that you need- there's a lot of expertise here. Your situation sounds as if you're doing everything you can, but if there's any way that we can maybe point you in a direction- just ask! :D

Welcome Pinner,
Life has been a struggle for you, I'm sorry....but thankful (as I'm sure you are) that you have a daughter that is near by and can help you, and that you can park your home.

Let us know if we can be of assistance to you.

Pinner see THIS THREAD.

You need a Doctor NOT medical insurance.

Find a Doctor and help him/her implement the Doctor's Care Plan from the pioneer in the industry Dr. David Hicks.

This is the future of primary medical care in the USA.

The message was somewhat of an introduction. I wanted you to know me and my insurance problems. Also I wanted to express that the national health plan is a much needed thing. If your rich or you have good insurance you can't no.
