I run a small food van company with six employees. All my drivers have chaufer’s license. A few days ago, one of my model employees was charged with a DUI. It was his first offense. He has no previous records and he was driving his own vehicle on his own time when he was charged. His BAC was .18. The court has sentenced him with a fine and mandatory AA attendance for 12 weeks. Somehow, my insurance company got wind of this chain of events and they called me up to say that my employee cannot be a...

Buttery senior healthcare is recruiting consultants in my area and I can not find any information online about them. Wondering if this is a new organization created by Lexicon senior healthcare since they are under editing by industry for unethical sales tatics? Any info would be helpful.

I have a homeowners policy drawn out on my 200 year old country house worth $870,000. The current policy states that I’m covered by ‘functional replacement cost’. I was shopping for a new carrier with better premium rates and my agent got me an excellent quote. The only difference is that the new policy covers me for the ‘Actual Cash Value’ of an loss I incur. Is ACV a better option than FRC? Or do I stick to my old policy?

I know some folks that were sold universal policies that they were told would be andquot;paid upandquot; after paying premiums for ten years in which case they no longer will have to pay premiums after that time. These are large policies, and my understanding is this is not correct. After 10 years it starts paying out of the cash value which would reduce the death benefit.

Correct? Incorrect?

If incorrect, why in the world would an insurance write a contract that allowed the policyholder to stop r...

I wouldn't say it was my fault since the thing just blew up 5 minutes after I had turned it on. Will my homeowners policy cover the damage as well as the grill?

I was in an accident in which the person on my right sped up and got in front of me while we were both about to make a right turn. I had the right of way and the other person also admitted to being completely at fault since he was distracted. I have a copy of the police report which back up my claim. I filed the claim with his insurance company and a couple of days later I was told that they would cover only 70% of the cost since I was the one who had struck his car.
