Since you have an attorney to pursue the claim you may ask him/her about the options you have against the insurance company of the grocery store. When did this incident happen? Have you received any offer form them yet?

You don't say how long ago your attorney submitted your demand...it's not uncommon (depending on the facts and volumn of the demand) for it to take 30 days or more to get thru it...your attorney surely put a deadline in his/her cover letter to the insurance company what was that deadline...as to the value of your claim no way for any of us to tell that, we'd have to see ALL medical information and claims information to come up with a range, along with additional personal information from you...You are paying your attorney a ton of money to do just that...what does he/she think your injury is worth?

Whenever you're thinking of hiring an attorney...you should weigh the probability of winning it in your terms. You should not hesitate to ask your attorney about the proceedings and the possible outcomes through the different phases of communication.
