What are situations that will cause insurance carriers to waive their timely filing requirements? I work for a Dr. who thinks it is an excuse if I tell him the filing window is closed on a claim --he says under ERISA there is no time limit. I have researched extensively and see it differently/ Can anyone out there tell me if I am missing something?? Thanks!

Iah, the doc is probably right. It seems that policies qualifying under the ERISA plans are indeed free from non-timely denials. But, otherwise, claims submitted after the stated period would get denied as untimely claims.

However, you would receive more information from the experts as well, so just stay around.
