Could anyone explain runoff insurance with examples (Life and general)

"HELLO"......glad you can be here, on the forum. I'm not sure about RunOff Insurance..I've never heard of it. However.......there is ALOT of people, on this forum, that will be along shortly, to help. Lots of Insurance Experts...I'll tell ya. Just wanted to say HI.

Hey, are your inquiring about insurance runoff, which arises from the old and discontinued liabilities? I suppose, its a matter between the insurers and the re-insurance companies :?

Run Off could also mean the unpaid claims at the termination date of a self funded Health or Dental Policy. Claims submitted, in appeal or incurred prior to the date of termination. Who's going to administer and pay the Run Off or is there a 3 month, 6 month or 12 month Run Off period built into the self funded contract.
