Restaurant insurance types

Our new restaurant has suffered losses due to equipment damages and some unforeseen lawsuits. We've general liability insurance, but the agent said that our cars were not covered under it. It would help if any of you would figure out our insurance needs. Are there any other policies that we should have?

It's good that you're safe under the umbrella of your general liability. It's a must when we think of the number of lawsuits that are getting filed each day.

Well, that's quite possible. It's important that we go through our policy papers to check what's in and what's out. Auto liability insurance is often needed if we're using a vehicle that belongs to our company.

A general liability policy is designed to cover liability losses arising from the operations or premises of your business. A commercial auto policy will cover vehicles used in your business. Workers compensation covers injuries to employees (the owner can be added to this policy also). A commercial property insurance covers business property and loss of use of that property in the event of a loss.

I highly recommend contacting a reputable agent and discussing your specific needs and concerns as I’ve only listed the most commonly purchased policies above. You may have additional needs, which would be identified by a professional agent.
