I hit a wild 4oo# wild hog (pig) with my vehicle. I was injured and under Dr care for nearly 3 months. I am finally released. I have used up my PIP coverage. Should I and how do I settle with my insurance company to recover all losses from this accident?

I don't think that UM would qualify...Did your carrier tell you that you are entitled to an injury settlement in addition to your PIP? If so what state are you in?

In Texas, I have not discussed it with them yet.

OP, you wouldn't qualify for an injury settlement under your UM coverage for hitting a hog. Well, let's say in 22 years I've never heard of it...Do let us know though if your carrier (Texas) says different. You should only be entitled to your PIP or medpay.

Your health insurance should kick in and cover the rest of the expenses once your auto insurance coverage is exhausted.
