Not after it happens...but your homeowners policy may cover it, it depends on the source of the water. It must be sudden and accidental.

Definately have a look at your home insurance policy, some cover the result caused by the damage but not the cost of repairing the leak

If the water leak is a result of your negligence then I'm afraid you won't be covered. You must check your policy to find out what kind of coverage you are entitled to for damage from water leakage.

Why would you say that? If not intentional, negligence can be considered accidental and would be covered under most policies.

Insurance in case of water leakage is not very easy to obtain as in most of the cases it is attributed to the negligence of the user.
