5 Tips To Getting The Cheapest Car Insurance Rates

Hi...

Getting afforable car insurance can be difficult (especially for younger drivers). But there are some things you can do.

1. Ask your insurance company about their Good Student program. Most insurance companies give discounts to drivers who can maintain a B average in school.

2. Piggyback on parents' policy. Use their driving experience in order to get cheaper insurance rates.

3. Pay in one lump sum. You can usually save about 15-20% just for making one payment, instead of monthly installments.

4. Ask about Safe Driver discounts. Auto insurance companies will reward you for not getting into any accidents for 6-12 months.

5. Insure a less risky car. The vehicle you are insuring definitely factors into the insurance premiums you will be paying. Choosing a car that is more relaiable and full of safety and anti-theft devices will help you further reduce your policy premium.

Finding cheap car insurance doesn't have to be a nightmare (and it can actually be quite easy). Don't be afraid to ask your auto insurance company for every discount that you may qualify for. The savings can be hundreds of dollars each year.

These discounts only help certain individuals, comparison shopping is the single best way to save money on any insurance.

Great points all around, but must agree with Justin - comparison shopping is the best way to be sure to get the best coverage for the best price.

While many insurers offer great discounts, if their base rate is too high in the first place, applying discounts doesn't necessarily mean they'll be competitive with the next company.

Pointers when shopping though - ask questions and read everything you sign. A good insurance agent will take the time you need to assess your needs and explain your options.
