| we need to have the roof our the building that our flat is in and the freeholder has said that it is going to cost about £10,000 to get it done, can we not clain this on the buildings insurance as the leak has also damaged some of the timbers that hold the roof up. |

I would think so...is this a condo, or apt? What type of insurance do you have? renters? condo? homeowners? I'd be more interested to know about this leak and how it could have been caused. I guess you can collect it from the building insurance if it has been caused due to natural disturbances. I don't know whether you may claim it on the same, if it was irresponsibly caused by any of the inmates.
