Approval of Social Security Disability can take months and even years. In the interim, you need to live, provide for children and pay bills. You are not able to work, yet you cannot collect disability since you have not yet been approved.

Hi, if the cause of your staying away from work satisfies the eligibility criteria set for the unemployment coverage in Colorado, then I see no problem in your collecting such benefits. It has to be evaluated under the Colorado employment security act. Roddick
