changing mind about settlement agreement

If i agree to a settlement verbally (on the phone) am i legally binded ? I have not signed any papers yet.

Well, that really depends on several things...if the call was recorded then ... well, it was recorded. Let me ask you this...why have you changed your mind?

Most states will allow a verbal contract. With that said, you've probably heard of the saying that it's as good as the paper it's written on.

But as an adjuster I'd certainly start to take the gloves off at this point as what is going to happen the next time you agree to settle? Let me ask you a question, how would you feel if the adjuster agreed to pay you a certain amount and then changed their mind and offered less? Would you hold the adjuster to what they said?
