You can cross "claims payout" off your list. These companies avoid it like the plague. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

| Can I ask what is your aversion to working with a local independent agent? Doing so is almost certain to get you the highest level of personal service along with advice and suggestions you'll never get buying direct. Plus, you get to support a local business. |

What do cooks say? "The proof is in the pudding?. You really do not know how good your insurance is until you have to experience a claim. So why not base your choice on the claims experience ratings or check out J.D. Powers and associates for information on what customers have to say about their insurance companies.
I personally like the idea of having an agent. Even though when you go to ask for their help on a claim, and they say "here's the 800 number, its out of my hands and in the claims department", you feel a little better when you can vent your frustrations and exasperation with a live representative of the company. _________________ If you can't find the time to do it right, how will you ever find the time to do it over. |

All them these companys (most likely) will show a high CQI, personally I don't think you can go by these rankings for anything. You can check your state DOI site, they will have a list of complaints filed against all companys, but there too you need to be careful...Some states will break down 'justifable' complaints some won't. Personally I think the best way to find (in just about anything) a company is referals from family and friends. _________________ **************************************
