| I was in a auto accident last jan & got moderate whiplash. Over a 7 month period i made 15 hospital visits (10 were physical therapy). I also had headches, loss of sleep & my right arm was hurting. Ny total med bills were $3,710.00 & i got $3,000.00 for pain/suffering. I had no loss of wages. I think i may of been able to get $500.00 but it was a gamble. The at fault ins co adj was not friendly nor sympathetic. Had i changed my mind after we verbally agreed on a settlement amount im not sure what would of happened. Did i get a decent settlement or did i screw myself ? I got the check last friday & its finally over with. My car (90 Tbird) was totalled (but drivable) & i got $1,656.00 plus $380.00 for a rental car which i never rented.The adj (a diff one) knew i didnt rent a car but said its ok. I just feel overall i could of negotiated a better settlement. Or could i ? 3k isnt much but its better then 0. |

It's like buying a car... at the time the price was settled do you think you got a good deal? If so, then it was a good deal.
Without knowing more details I'd say that amount was good. You might have been able to get $500 more as you mentioned but the world is full of "could haves". |
