You should have a copy of the endorsement(s) that tell you exactly what they are but if not you need to contact the carrier and/or agent that you purchased the policy from we wouldn't have any personal information on your policy(s)

OK... it might not be a bad idea if posters actually read the thread. There's a link earlier in the thread to the IMT codes for the various tariffs. This will tell you what the various IMT endorsements do.

those r the additional coverages with extra premium in motor vehicle insurance ex: rubber tyres and plastic bumpers etc., in normal policy they are not covered. with extra premium they are covered with extra premium.

Although I'm not very sure if I got it all right or not, here goes nothing:
IMT 21: Special Exclusions and Compulsory Deductible (applicable for commercial vehicles except for cabs and motorized two wheelers carrying passengers for hire or reward)
Exclusion: Unless the vehicle is a total loss, the insurer is not liable for the damage or loss of side parts, bumpers, mudguards, paint job, lamps(head, rear, any), tires, tubes and hood.
IMT 23: Coverage for lamps, tires or tubes, hood or side parts, bumpers, head lamps, mudguards and the paint job of the damaged portion only (For all commercial vehicles)
Subject to: Depreciation of the damaged part as well as the paint job of the damaged part, 50% of the loss to be covered by the insurer, no deductible applicable other than depreciation and the 50% out-of-pocket.
IMT 39: Legal Liability to persons employed in connection with the operation and/or maintaining and/or Loading and/or Unloading of Motor Vehicles. (For Goods Vehicle)
The insurer shall protect the insured against his legal liability under the Workman’s Compensation Act, the Fatal Accidents Act or Common Law in respect of personal any paid employee engaged in service of the insured in connection with the event. The number of employees in this situation should not exceed 7(including driver and cleaner) for the coverage to come into effect.
IMT 39A: Legal liability under the Workmen’s Compensation Act in respect of the carriage of more than six employees, excluding the driver, in goods carrying vehicles.
On payment of an additional premium, the insured is indemnified against legal liability in respect of death or bodily injury to any person, other than the paid driver, exceeding six in number while being carried in the motor vehicle. For this to be valid the insured must take reasonable precautions to prevent such accidents and is in compliance with statutory obligations.
IMT 37: Legal liability to non fare paying passenger who are not employees of the insured (for commercial vehicles only)
On payment of an additional premium, the insurer will indemnify the insured against his legal liability in respect of death or bodily injury to any person not being an employee of the insured and not carried for hire or reward. The person should be a charterer or representative of the charterer of the vehicle. He should also be directly connected with the journey in one form or the other.
IMT 40: Legal Liability to paid driver/ conductor/cleaner employed in connection with the operation of Motor vehicle (For buses, cabs and motorized three or four wheeled vehicle under commercial vehicles tariff)
Payment of additional premium required. The insurer shall indemnify the insured against legal liabilities arising out of the personal injury to any paid driver or cleaner under the employment of the insured provided that the insured has taken enough precautions to avoid or prevent such accidents and is in compliance with all statutory regulations. |
