Posted: Fri Dec 11, 2009 9:32 pm   Post subject: is tamoxifen for 5 years after breast cancer considered a tr   I had a mastectomy 8 years ago followed by 5 years of tamoxifen hormonal therapy. Aflac asks if you have had or been treated for cancer within 5 years. Is tamoxifen considered a treatment or just a preventive therapy? Posted: Fri Dec 11, 2009 9:36 pm   Post subject:    Taking medication is considered "being treated" for a disease. I think you'll have to answer "yes" for that question. The fact that it's for hormonal therapy might get you issued assuming there's no recurrence of the disease, but they are more then likely going to check medical records. Aflac honks?
