I had a mastectomy 8 years ago followed by 5 years of tamoxifen hormonal therapy. Aflac asks if you have had or been treated for cancer within 5 years. Is tamoxifen considered a treatment or just a preventive therapy? I'm trying to find out if I qualify for the cancer policy?

Taking medication is considered "being treated" for a disease. I think you'll have to answer "yes" for that question. The fact that it's for hormonal therapy might get you issued assuming there's no recurrence of the disease, but they are more then likely going to check medical records.

Aflac honks? Have any additional info you could give our poster?
