Police investigation was closed and they were going to make settlement with me then the investigation got reopened and they are with holding settlement. i call and call and no answers just the run around i am going on 2 and a half months now and i dont know what to do can anyone give me some insights . I have already filed a complaint with New Jersey Banking and Insurance. As of today i contacted my congressman. any help would be greatly appreciated.

When was the complaint filed with th NJ B&I dept? I'd imagine that they should have an answer for you w/in 30 days.

The delay could be due to many things. How did this person manage to steal he vehicle? Where the vehicle's keys involved? Did you know the person that stole the vehicle in any way?

The complaint was filed with NJ B&I 22 days ago. I recived a letter from them 9 days ago stating that they were looking into it. My wife and I were over a friends house in PA watching the Phillies game (world series game) and we both drove there. So we had both vehicles there. at approx 9pm she ran to the store but needed the GPS from my car. took my keys and went and got the gps then locked my car and got into hers. Sh eput my keys in her glove box. upon returning she left the keys in the glove box of her car . her car was one of 3 broken into that night along with a chevy suburban, and my explorer. the keys were taken out of her glove box along with all the paperwork to her vehicle. Also most of her paperwork was recovered from the owner of the a suburban.AS for knowing the person that stole the vehicle the answer to that would be no. we dont even know common people. However we did find out that he was at a party down the street from our friends house, left his car there, and took ours . very sad story with alot of unknowns. But i dont know why they are taking so long to make settlement. I just want to be able to go get another vehicle. even if i had a rental i wouldnt mind waiting but of course after the 1st 30 days I had to return the rental. So I feel as though i am stuck in limbo.
