Hi all! I'm 19 years old and finally got my driver's license. I am buying a car from my Uncle who owns a dealership in the area, it's a 2006 Volvo S40 Automatic transmission, it definitely is not a "sports car". Anyways, I'm having the hardest time finding car insurance. I can't afford more than $130 p/m right now. Is there ANY place out there that has low rates for people who are first time drivers?
I don't care about the deductibles or anything, I just need a low monthly rate. |

| I guess there's a possibility that most carriers would offer higher rates to new drivers. BTW, did you attend a drivers course in your locality? |

The higher your deductibles the lower the premium (remember deductibles only apply to collision and comp coverages)...Check some of the larger carriers that offer to quote other carriers along with their own (even if lower). I know that Progressive says they do on their commercials, I'm sure others do as well. _________________ "Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well being of a person or animal is at stake. | I'm curious about something: did you have the car financed through your Uncle's dealership? I'm asking because, in the lease they usually have 'Full Coverge' ..you can't drive it off the lot without Insurance. Also... (just my personal experience here..) the payment I made each month, included the 'Full Coverage'. I 'let it go' with this as I was looking around for 'Full Coverage' I could afford. I do admit, 'Full Coverage', through financing, is a pretty high rate. |
