I have done some research about pain and suffering claims in Maryland. From what I have seen, the most often paid amount is between $11,000-$12,000. I was wondering if anyone knows or could direct me to information about what kind of pain/suffering corresponds to that amount? Lost a leg? Hospitalized for a week? Became depressed? Maybe this kind of information does not exist...But just wondering if it did.

The amount for pain and suffering claim cannot be specified. It depends on a number of factors like the credibility of the witness, any pre-existing injury, age, income and even family status. It is only after the evaluation of several such factors that an estimate is determined.
