My step father was killed in a motorcycle accident. The bike belonged to me and I was insured with Progressive. The accident was no fault of of his. A teenager hit and killed him.

My insurance company paid off the motorcycle and gave me my $500 deductable back. I have BIL for $40,000. Am I entitled to anythign else.

I'm so very sorry for your loss.

My insurance company paid off the motorcycle and gave me my $500 deductable back.

This would indicate the at fault carrier has paid them back what they paid out, (including your deductible). Which of course also means that carrier has accepted liabililty for the accident.

I have BIL for $40,000. Am I entitled to anythign else.

I don't know what 'BIL' is? Can you please explain

It's short for "William".

OP, yes... please explain what "BIL" is... I'm guessing medical/funeral expenses? If so, who is your step fathers next of kin or the executor of his estate? Whoever this is needs to handle this issue.

BIL: Bodily Injury Limit?

she owns the bike and was compensated, dont see anything else owed to the owner. however the BI limits of the policy of the OP and any UMBI on the bike would be exhausted and owed to the stepfather's family. did i miss anything? med pay maybe?

thats horrible, sorry for your family's loss.

Whoooo, now that you mentioned that... I'd agree that you are probably correct. Obvious when you see it but I would have never guessed that.

"L" = liability, (AKA limit of liability).

If it's 'liability', then it's gottabe Bodily injury liability. Bodily injury liability insurance covers you in the event you cause damages to someone else out of your own negligence.
