No I am not disagreeing. I do understand .I am just saying you have to take these online quotes as just that a quote. You need to know if you have anyhting at all on yor driving record before getting a quote if yo want an acurate one. Can they hold hitting deer against you? They did on my son's policy. It went against him and made his policy rates higher.

Online quotes are not always accurate, it's true, but there are a bunch of websites that send your information to multiple insurance agents at once so you don't have to track them down yourself.
I've been quoted a price from a local agent that was a bit lower than the one she gave me once she ran the VIN number of my car. She couldn't really explain why either. I'd told her the make and model, but for some reason the VIN made it go up some. Not a lot, but some.
It just goes to show how complicated insurance algorithms are. So if something about a VIN number can make insurance cost more, certainly a history of running into deer can.
the VIN on cars have a wealth of information, if i was guessing i would say the digit for the motor caused the increase...vin's will show where it was built the yr/make/moldel in most cases, the engine size, and much much more...again i bet either the motor or maybe 'sport' attached to the vehicle boosted it up alittle...also just an fyi, each digit place is a specific thing in the 17 digit vin...example the 10th (i think that's right) is the yr/ 8 i think is motor and so on, it's really pretty interesting. _________________ Have you been helped by a poster?
