A lady hit my garbage can that was in my driveway, her car insurance company is trying to say i'm responsible for her damage to her car and i have to pay, can they do that or is it her fault.

how are they saying your are responsible? was the trash can moving or rolling towards her car? or did she hit a fixed object? what are the details of what happened?
