Only for the damage to the vehicle and the missing tire. This might be under your deductible amount. The laptop and GPS are not part of the vehicle itself so they would obtain coverage from a property policy, such as a home owners or renters policy.

You call your insurance company and report the loss.

Yes, I do agree with these replies here.. I think its only the Car and the Car Tire are under insurance cover but not the Laptop and other things. Definitely i think your other policies would help you in this matter.

If the GPS was dash installed, then it could be included on your auto policy. However, this situation varies from company to company if the device is aftermarket and not OE.

If the auto and home were with the same carrier, would there only be one deductible for one occurence? My Allied policy waived the lesser of the two deductibles when I had a loss from a hail storm on both the house and the vehicle which was the result of the same occurence. Would a loss as a result of theft be treated any differently? Is this common with most carriers or just a perk the insurer I have a policy with?

The policies almost always state a separate deductible for both occurrences. I have seen carriers only charge one deductible during cat losses.
