The repairs cost only $4500. The insurance co. sent me a check for $8900. Am I entitled to keep the difference or must I return it to the insurance company

My repair bill was $4500 but I received a recoverable depreciation check for 8900. Must I return the remainder to the insurance co.?

If you received the recoverable depreciation, then you had to submit the receipts to your carrier for this amount right? Otherwise they wouldn't have released this...

Start at square one...the total cost of repair was what?
What was the estimate of repair based on? (did the carrier write it or who)? they paid you what initially? they then sent you a check for how much? (how much was first check how much was second check)? what did you send them in order for them to send you the second check?
