mother is in skilled nursing home - will be getting medicade from the state of missouri. it is my understanding that her house will become the property of the state. can the contents of this house be removed / sold by the heirs?

Yeah, that's my understanding as well...too bad you all couldn't get the house sold prior to Mom going into the nursing home..can the contents of this house be removed / sold by the heirs?
Double check this with medicare, or a probate attorney, but I don't think they have ANY claim to personal property..But I certainly could be wrong.Add your comment
