This accident occurred 2 weeks ago on the freeway. Basically what happened was I was going on the I5 (I live in Southern California) and was in a lane to go into another freeway (I55). I looked up at the freeway signs on the road showing you what freeway lane you're in and then when I looked down there was a car really close in front of me. So I slammed on the brakes and turned left t try to avoid her. Unfortunately I didn't and very tapped her left side with my right.

We both got out and the lady said that was was pregnant. Their car as I could tell had no damages at all, besides for MAYBE minor scratch marks that I don't even think was me because of the placement of them. I told her it didn't seem her car really had any damages, and I guess she agreed with me because she kept silent. Now she is complaining about injuries and I'm not sure what I should do since they left without giving me any of their contact info.

Allow your insurance company to handle it. They will determine any liability on your part. She will have to prove her injuries.

Huh? Someone gave someone some info otherwise how would you know she is not complaining of injuries?

Just a note... when in an accident _both_ parties exchange info. If you did not get hers in this case then you are not allowing your insurance company to protect your interest. The other person could wait 2 years and then complain of an injury. The other person could injure herself after the accident and claim it was from this accident, the other person could damage their vehicle further and claim it was from this accident.

Again, by law you _both_ exchange info.

WOW!! I'm just wondering, because I just don't know this question. Isn't there some kind of time limit (almost like an SOL) to state if your injured from an accident. I mean,. I know, in ALOT of accidents, the injuries do occur much later, etc. But,....you had stated (TSCOPE), "she could wait 2 years and complain of injuries." (Thinking outloud here)..I would think a person would know in LESS than 2 years whether they are injuries or not. Hope you 'follow' my question.

SD, the accident was two weeks ago, not two years..but yes, a person can come back anytime prior to the SOL running and claim an injury.

Yea..I say that the accident was two weeks ago. I'm jsy saying..in general...can someone come back, after a long period of tome, and calim they were injuried? What happens if the person comes out AFTER the SOL has expired, and says they were injuried? Do they have a claim?

As long as that time period is within the limitations, yes.

Nope, they are as you say.....SOL.
