I live in georgia seriously injured by geico insured while riding my motorcycle. Does georgia law require geico to release the amount of all policy limits umbrella and excess that their insured has, and how should this be shown to may sure geico is being truthful?

There is no reason for GEICO (or their insured) to withhold this information, but as far as I know there is no law requiring such disclosure. The information must be made available upon a formal "dicovery" motion in a civil trial.

Now, what seems interesting to me is whether Geico or the insured are actually trying to hide such information. I don't think there's any valid reason for doing so. At the same time, it will be better if you could share more information on how the accident actually happened.

I've mainly handled claims where the policy limits need to be disclosed. As such, I see little reason to withhold this info. With that being said, we've had this discussion before and people who are used to non-disclosure would rather not disclose this info. I think both points of view have their merit.

That's true, too. A person who carries high limits of liability could open himself up to unnecessary legal action when a person whose claim is of relatively low value says, "Well, I'll just sue and see what I can get," causing the whole tort lawyer specter to raise its ugly head.
