When you read the post from skinnycow18 somewhere above these latest ones, you may question, as I do, how illiterate people make it into college or progress in their careers. The answer lies in the coherent answers of others that are cut-and-pasted into one's own work and passed off as original thought, and the professors or supervisors who fail to question it..

When I taught a journalism course at a Christian university here in So Cal a few years ago, and one of my students whose English grammar skills were weak at best turned in a written work obviously not her own, I found the verbatim source on the Internet. The university has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy on plagiarism, but when I challenged her on it, she said, "I didn't know it wasn't OK to copy." I gave her the opportunity to redo the assignment, and what I received was her usual, below university-level work. I was not surprised by her negative comments about me in her course evaluation after the semester ended. She passed with a weak D.

That's where many students are in their critical thinking today.

I myself is a student of UOP and I also look for futher information after reading my chapter. This gives me more of a better understanding on the topic and makes me feel more confident with my school work. Everyone learns in different ways. It does not mean we are slackers or cheating. Yes granted some people may cheat using the web to answer all questions but that is very few. Some of the "smart" ones should have already thought of this but also some of these smart dont use commen since. Hmmmmm. Good luck all my UOP people.

Evidently knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary is not an admission requirement. But happy to take your $30,000 per year anyway.

What does it mean to have insurance? We know that insurance is to cover risk of some sort. Choose two types of insurance (auto, home, health, disability, or life insurance) and identify one coverage characteristic of each.

I am a UOP student as well. It is not nice to assume what people are going to do. Seeking answers outside of the text is not wrong. By assuming that someone is going to plagarize just goes to show that US/101 did not teach you anything about communicating in a group atmosphere.

For all the money UOP students pay for their classes, it is remarkable that they come here looking for free help with them.

Critical thinking is very important on the quest for knowledge. No one should ever discourage anyone for wanting to further their education, to the IVY League-rs, can I eat at your country club, probably not ,well it's OK for you to still as an adult bully your peer's,you were probably raised that way.

It really doesn't matter where the question came from. The point is we are all here looking for an answer for something. So instead of calling people dumb and the questions there asking, how about you reevaluate exactly why you are on this site yourself. Laughing[/b]

A word is worth a thousand pictures.

Be sure you take an English class before you graduate . . . one in which they will teach you to remember the difference between "there", "they're", and "their". You might also learn the differences between "are" and "our", and "to", "too", and "two", and maybe even when to use "its" or "it's" correctly.

The answer to the original question posted is available in thousands of other places than a website where the answers could come from an experienced insurance agent or someone who has no clue about what they are saying. This site is not necessarily a "definitive" source, and these posts could not be reliably cited in any academic work as authoritative.

The question "What is insurance?" demands an academically reliable response . . . from a textbook, encyclopedia, or similar source. Alternatively, you could get off your A$$ and go talk to an actual insurance agent in person and get an answer that would pass rigorous academic scrutiny.
