Is it legal for the body shop to hold my truck until i pay d

We had some bad weather and my truck was damaged. so i had to make a claim. but now the trucks done and i cant afford my deductable. so the shop wont give me my truck back. is this lega;

100%, each and every day. For some odd reason people usually like to get paid for their work. It's just one of those things. Also, people usually have the money to pay before they obligate themselves to the debt. Again, just one of those odd things.

I work for a dealership, and yes - you must pay before we release the vehicle.

Yes it is legal. You should pay them completely for the service they did to your truck before they release your vehicle.

Some body shops wll make payment arrangments with you (a few, here in my loal area, do..but, we have a very small community, so 'everybody knows everyone' kind of thing). You may want to talk to the manager and see what you can do. If they won't/can't do that..well......yes, it needs to be paid for before they decide to release your vehicle for you.
