i am not really sure if this is a position or not, but, I was wondering if there was a position that a agent goes out into the field and makes a claim for an accident or house damage something like that? What do they usually get paid?

We'd not call that person an agent... they would be called a field adjuster or just an adjuster.
You can search salary.com for salary info. Some adjuster work for 1 company, others are independent and work for many (self employed basically).
