I was run over by a 3/4 ton p/u truck 3/24/11 The driver was given citation. I was hospitalized for 4 days with a fx. tibia requiring surg. with hardware placed permanently, internal bleeding, misaligned ribs. I now have to have another surg. on my knee, I am not able to walk still at this time. I have been in rehab. 60days and I will be in rehab. again after this surg. The driver's insurance has max. out and I am being pushed to sign off. Do I qualify under Fl. serious injury threshold?

What is "FL serious injury threshold"? I adjusted claims for about 17 years in FL and I have no idea what that is.

As it reads to me, Florida file a liability claim if you are at leaast relatively seriously hurt. Criteria of seriousness expressed in written terms(permanent disfigurement, scarring, or factured bones) or expressed in terms of length of disability greater than 60 days.

Oh... do you meet the tort threshold. Yes... even if you have a scrape on a knee there will be some doctor in FL that will testify that you have some permanency.

Is this Tort threshold a means of help for me regarding the extenuating circumstances of financial stress due to the multiple hospitalizations and surgeries and rehabs. I still don't know what it is that it is eventually going to end all of this.

Your injury clearly exceeds the tort threshold so you can file an injury claim against the at fault party.
