We have no running water due to our well pump.. I was trying to find out whether homeowners insurance cover that.

What caused the pump to quit working? For your insurance to pay for the loss, it has to be a covered event. If the pump quit because it is old and needs to be replaced, the answer is no -- that's a maintenance issue. If it caught fire and burned up, that might or might not be covered (won't be if it's a maintenance issue, such as a failure to keep the pump lubricated). If it was struck by lightning or a tornado, that's definitely covered.
