Posted: Wed Jul 20, 2011 2:51 pm   Post subject:    What caused the pump to quit working? For your insurance to pay for the loss, it has to be a covered event. If the pump quit because it is old and needs to be replaced, the answer is no -- that's a maintenance issue. If it caught fire and burned up, that might or might not be covered (won't be if it's a maintenance issue, such as a failure to keep the pump lubricated).
