but im not sure how to even "search" for others, like what key words to use...
progressive wont pay my claim because i will not allow them access to my private financial records. i asked them to show me very specif law that says i am obligated too disclose that info and they responded with a generic clause in mn law, that says i have to "cooperate" and provide "records". so i finally get them to write me a letter of denying my claim and they again state the generic "failure to cooperate" and "not providing "records". i requested that they be specific in there denial, to state the exact documents but they wont do it.
so what do i do? i gonna take them to court but i dont what them to be able to change there story. i thought i would videotape them with a verbal admission as to there true reasons. but if u got something better id love to hear it, thanks...

At some point you could have asked them to put their request in writing. That way you'd have what you wanted. They are not obligated to include the info you want in their denial.
You can also send them a Certified letter stating that you understand that they are request X, Y and Z documents, this is the reason for their denial and if this is incorrect, to please let you know within 30 days, in writing.
Here is the thing... if you file suit against them you will need to show that they don't need access to the records they are requesting. I'm going to "guess" and say that this is a difficult thing to show. They certainly do have a right to deny your claim for lack of cooperation if they feel they need that info and it's related to the claim. You can certainly refuse and press the issue.

Where would this be done? I'd recommend against secretly video taping someone unless they were outside, in public. It sets you for a civil suit.If you are going to file suit than you will probably need an attorney. You should be discussing this with him/her.

OK, you're in a claims situation. What led to the claim? Traffic collision, burglary, theft? Maybe they think this is a suspicious claim and want to make sure you aren't filing the claim just to get money from them. Your financials can help them to understand your situation better.
What does your contract state about filing a claim? Does it happen to mention something like: "You agree to cooperate in the resolution of a claim, and agree to provide records or information we require." ??
If it's in your contract, you have to abide by it. If they have the right to request information, you have the right to withhold it, but if withholding the information means no claims payment, then they are honoring the contract because you are violating it.
A good attorney would tell you the same thing. A poor attorney would take the case, file the suit, you'd go to court and have your case tossed out for failure to state a legitimate cause of action. Time and money wasted because you want to sue and not cooperate.
It causes our insurance premiums to increase for no apparent reason.
