She has been with the same co. for over 20 yrs. She needds to have her roof repaired.

What happened to the roof? Has she been in contact with the insurance company?

It is basically just a very old roof. There are places that have been patched a long time ago. There is a small hole it seems over the garage and water has been trickling into the garage. Now there is mold on the ceiling of the garage. The insurance co. said they will not fix it because the damage is caused by age.

They would be correct. Wear and tear and neglect is not covered under the policy. A home owner needs to keep up their home. Home owners insurance is not a warranty.
