How bad was your accident ? |
It does not matter how bad the accident was . . . what matters 100% is the statute of limitations to file a civil suit. In many states, the SOL is 12 months from the date of the injury, in some states it is 24 months, and in a few it can be 36 months or longer.
Failure to file a civil suit within the required time frame will take the at-fault party off the hook 100% in most cases. And although the insurance company would probably still work toward a resolution of the claim, they could also say, "Case closed, we're not paying you."
And then you would have no recourse whatsoever. A different definition of SOL. _________________ CA-licensed P&C Broker-Agent and Life Agent. CA Insurance Lic #0596197.
