MY HUSBAND RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THAT HE IS ENTITLED TO BENEFICIARY AS HIS FATHER PASSED AWAY IN 1988. WHY DID IT TAKE SO LONG FOR HIM TO BE CONTACTED? Posted: Tue Nov 15, 2011 5:46 am   Post subject:    It took so long, because may be, no one ever contacted the insurance company and informed them about the death of the insured. When you think you are the beneficiary to a life insurance policy, you are supposed to contact the insurer and file claim to get the benefits soon enough.
