Nothing now. Before, an extended warranty.

Manufacturer's warranty. Or other auto service contract. No coverage for this under auto insurance. It would have been better to crash the car, perhaps. But even then, only if you have collision coverage.

In most cases, engine damage can be covered with a full coverage car insurance. A full coverage policy includes comprehensive and collision coverage along with other types of coverage. Practically speaking, whether or not the insurance company will agree to pay for a damaged or dead engine depends on how it was damaged. How did the engine go out?

Only in a collision or similar comprehensive claim -- like a building fell on the engine. Generally, engine damage is mechanical breakdown and not covered under auto insurance.

Thats what I tried to mean but it just came out sideways, sorry about that

Max, is there anything under insurance that will cover mechanical breakdown?
