insurance for rebuilt car

I have arranged to buy a car with a salvage title. I have heard that insurance companies can refuse coverage on rebuilt cars. Is that true? Again, apart from the minimum coverage, which form of coverage is a must for this kind of car?

They usually don't refuse coverage as they never ask to see the title. However, if you add comprehensive and/or collision coverage they will charge you a premium based on the full value of the vehicle. If you have a total loss they will only pay you around the value less 25%.

Whatever the minimum insurance requirement is for your state. That's "a must".
