Permissive use

by phstemptx » Sat Sep 02, 2006 08:33 pm

I am out required to travel for work out of state/country on a regular basis. I normally am required to stay 1 week to 2 months. while driving a car which was rented i'd got a dui. my company is saying this is not permissive use?

so anytime in the evening when i go out to dinner, laundry, and get into an accident, dui etc...it is not covered by my company because its not permissive use?

One thing I'd like you to be sure of is....that even if the car is pre-insured then also a lot of hazards had to be encountered n met in such a case. The consequences might involve the raise in the premium rates by large as well as depicting 'you' as a high-risk driver !

hey there, you ought to be more n more careful from now on my friend ! Your activities might prove fatal as your state motor vehicle department might demand an insurance proof submission for 3-4 years to the company. Obviously its not permissible.

My friend you may rest assured that once in a couple of years your motor vehicle records get checked, thats why its important to follow these rules. Since you've said that your car was a rented one and you haven't mentioned your state, hence no idea...but I'm sure that it doesn't lessen your responsibilities as a driver.

At the most, you might get your driving license suspended and to avoid that its better that you clarify things with your company n ask them to get the DMV arranged in time along with the SR-22 form, which might act as a proof of insurance to your state department...but still to rely or not to rely on your instincts is your best bet !

Well, since the spammer brought this thread out of hibernation I'll mention that I think the OPs claim is being denied as the OP was drinking at a social event and the employer considers this outside the scope of his/work... not a permissive use issue.

What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
