I recently got into an accident and I called my insurance company, which is Geico. I let them know what happened, some idiot driver ran me off the road and my car hit a pole (HARD). They told me they will take care of it have me a rental car ready. Well, I just had started a new job and it was my second week of training with no car. It was hard getting to and from work. It took weeks that I was able to talk to someone. When I finally got in contact they told me they needed the police report, so I got the police report and faxed it off to them then they referred me to a claims adjuster. I then had to make a statement after I finish tell him what happened and how the accident occurred. He told me I was at fault and that the only thing Geico will pay for is property damages. I will have to pay out of pocket for the damages of my car. I didn't understand why. He told me because the way my policy was. I told him no, I have full coverage and he basically hung up. So, I called back and asked to speak to another agent and they informed me that my policy was canceled and re-issued with another policy without my CONSENT! I never knew that even occurred. So, I am stuck with no car, and probably a big expense on my hands. What am I to do? I keep trying to get in contact with my claims adjuster and he refuses to take my calls and nobody else in the agency knows how to help me out. Should I sue?

Before you sue, contact your state's Dept of Insurance for assistance. Your experience with GEICO is unlike any that I have had with them, and when you say "full coverage" what do YOU mean by that?

they informed me that my policy was canceled and re-issued with another policy without my CONSENT!

While anything is possible, this is highly unlikely. There would be no reason for this -- even for nonpayment of premium or a late payment.

I keep trying to get in contact with my claims adjuster and he refuses to take my calls and nobody else in the agency knows how to help me out.

An auto insurance claim should have absolutely nothing to do with any agency. Either you have described this incorrectly or you have been dealing with the wrong parties.

If you are dealing with GEICO directly through their website or by phone, you should have no trouble reaching anyone in the claims department. If an adjuster is not taking your calls, there is always a Claims Dept supervisor or manager who will. Always (at least during business hours).

Scan or photograph your insurance card and email it to me and I will tell you what your coverage is and how to proceed from here. Use the "Send me your questions" link below.

You did not do anything for weeks? Why did you not pick up the phone and call GEICO a couple of days later?

You don't have "full coverage". This is not a coverage. Look at your policy and you will find no mention of "full coverage".

So, I called back and asked to speak to another agent and they informed me that my policy was canceled and re-issued with another policy without my CONSENT! I never knew that even occurred.

There is obviously much more to this then you mention here. Carriers don't simply cancel policies and rewrite them. Do you have a copy of your policy? If there is a new one then there is a reason such as you not making payments and the policy being reissued.

I keep trying to get in contact with my claims adjuster and he refuses to take my calls and nobody else in the agency knows how to help me out.

What you simply do is call and speak to the person's supervisor. If they don't call you back, you then call the following day and ask for the supervisors's supervisor. You keep moving up the ladder until someone picks up the phone. Document when you called and who you left messages with.
