My daughter just rolled her 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Insurance company wants to have it towed to "properly evaluate" whether or not the vehicle should be "totaled." At first, I agreed because they said that was the quickest and most effective way to get the pay out process going and settled. But, now I am learning that they want to tow the vehicle halfway across the state. We, as owners are interested in keeping the vehicle, not to repair or drive, but to salvage parts in order to soften the blow of the financial loss we are going to take. What are my rights as a Missouri resident and/or what do I need to ask for from my company?

You can keep it. When/If the carrier makes an offer they will subtract the salvage value.
