I am in Texas. A lady ran a red light and tboned my vehicle. I was the passenger in my car. She did not even attempt to stop. When she hit us it caused my vehicle to go across the road hit another vehicle and turn the opposite direction.

I went to the emergency room but not by ambulance. My cheek was cut and elbow burnt by I guess the airbags. My elbow still hurts. I feel like I hit my funny bone and get twinges of pain in my arm. I have a mark on my cheek still 2 weeks later that I doubt will go away. My back and neck are still sore but the doctor said that should be gone in the next couple of weeks.

The insurance company offered me 1700 for pain and suffering. Up to 5000 paid to my medical bills. The pain and suffering included my lost wages which was about 800. I declined the offer. I am a complete mess with all of this happening. I am very anxious and flinch anytime someone passes me while driving. I am a rep and drive most of the day.. not sure if they take emotions into acount.

What is considered a reasonable amount? Also, my vehicle has 14500 in damamges.

I am not sure how much the medical is bc I haven't recieved any bills yet. I do know the emergency room visit alone was 1200. The doctor visit the following week was 260. Thanks for any advice.

First, you can't settle without knowing what your medical bills amount to. Would you buy something without knowing the cost? The carrier wants to settle now, based on your current medicals because they know your medical bills will probably go up. What if your injury goes south and you need $10k more in medical treatment?

Wait until you are done treating. Only then will you know what to ask for.
