Is auto insurance claim information shared?

I’m with Geico right now and soon going to shift to Farmers. In the past few years, I’ve filed a number of claims and therefore my payments are going up. I was wondering if Geico would share my information with Farmers if I switch.

Most larger carriers automatically report claims to an Index system. Most likely they will have that information.

I was wondering if you will share this information with Farmers, since they ask YOU about that?

It appears to me that you did not disclose the information (or are thinking about not disclosing it), which is what we refer to as "concealment" (failure to communicate) or "material misrepresentation" (lying). Either of those will cause the insurance to be cancelled from the time the failure or lie occurred.

Due to privacy laws, Insurance companies cannot talk to each other directly without your permission, but they do talk to each other through the reporting systems tcope referred to above.
