Somehow my ex received ins. for his totaled car and managed to hold onto the wrecked car. He is having it fixed up and plans to sell it. In the meantime, he is driving my sons around in it. Is this safe? legal?

A $3000 vehicle can be a total loss with hail damage to the paint. It would be safe to drive. So how should we know?
