I have damage to my vehicle thro my own fault in my driveway

i am wondering if my $1000-$1600 estimate ( I have a $500. deductible) and it was my fault is worth making a claim. I can have the work done to a lesser degree and OK or go all the way. I am worried my policy will go up.
