My truck was hit by a young man sliding on ice. His insurance contacted me and then totaled the truck. It is a1995GMC and rough but comfortable for my husband to drive.They paid x amount minus buy back. Now it is time to get my tag. The lady told us we needed repair receipts. My truck is on a small loan as collateral at the bank. I need to get the renewed what do I do.

Who is, " the lady"?
Contact the DMV and find out of there is any issue with getting a new registration. If so, ask what needs to be done.
This has to do with the status of the title at the DMV... if it's a salvage title or not.

You should contact to Department of Motor Vehicles, only they can tell you that you can get your tag back or you need another registration.
