Hi there:
I've just been advised by my insurance agent that a house which is wood framed and with brick on the exterior is considered "brick construction" in Texas. Is this true? In my mind, the house is framed construction, not brick construction. It just only happens to have a brick covering.

Nate you make a good assumption. I am not an agent but an architect. If the house is frame...then it is frame. Structurally it is held up and together by frame. The brick should just be veneer. If it is structural brick then they wouldn't build frame behind it. Try to get a peek at the wall construction, foundation. It should be pretty obvious.

I belive that the state of Texas does consider brick veener (brick on wood frame) as brick construction. It is the only state that does. In the other 49, it is framed construction.
