Hi friends, I am Sam and I have an IT company. I want to buy a health insurance package for my office staff so that they can get a medical coverage of $30000 - $35000 each. I would like to know if it is the right range that I have selected for my office staff. Please suggest.
Simon

Hi Sam

Where are you located? If you are looking for a group insurance for your employees I think you should opt for a plan wherein the medical coverage is between $45,000 to $60,000. It of course depends on your location and the kind of coverage you want, for instance the benefits.

Thanks
Laura.

Agreed we need to know what state or location you are in to better help you. Insurance is different in different places. Please advise and I am sure someone will be able to help you shortly.

Hi sam, the first thing to think about with that range of coverage is this. Most insurance companies pay a percentage of your bill after the deductable has been met. A pretty good average is an 80/20 plan. What most people dont think about is this. Most surgerey in itsself is not that expensive, its the room and board that runs your bill up. Therefore, you want a plan with a good Miscellaneous benefit. I would go for 18,000-25,000 Also, its not a good Idea to have a high maximum benifit program. For instance, a 350,000 dollar policy is not a good idea, because, number one, it costs more monthly, two, if you receive a bill remotely close to that, you will be stuck paying at least 12 percent, and not many people can afford that, as well, you have to worry about your insurance dropping you. If you have a high claim, and your insurance is not guaranteed renewable for life, you could loose it. As far as a quote, I am a registered agent, and would be happy to give you a work site quote. However, I need to know where you are located, how many employees total you have, and what type of policy you are interested in. I am available all around the clock if you would like to email me at RandyDarby(at)inbox.com or call my office at 423-503-1928 I would be more than happy to assist you. Note: It may be more cost effective to ensure them all individually and pay a percentage as opposed to insuring your work site.

Not sure where you are located, but I deal with a fantastic insurance broker that covers the Northeast and CA called Corporate Synergies. (corpsyn.com) They shopped my current plans and reduced my rates without compromising the plan benefits I had chosen for my employees. Everyone I have dealt with there has been extremely professional; you might want to check them out!
