Not exactly sure what you are getting at...$8 per month seems really low for HMO coverage. Is this just your part of the premium through your employer's group health plan? Could you elaborate a bit on what you are talking about? Thanks!

My friend, if you have family members then why don't you select the rates as per the age of the oldest family member. Also like to inform you, that you may choose to enroll for an MedicareAdv while your spouse may still continue with the HMO. That's not a problem. Hello Coxy,
It is very difficult to justify any specific amount. However, I can suggest some tips which may help you to decide upon the coverage amount you need.
- Make a note of the illnesses that you and other family members have suffered in the recent past and depending upon select the coverage amount.
- Consider the ages of the members. You need to keep in mind the medical care requirement for the oldest and the youngest member will be different.
- Try to measure the exposure to certain chronic ailments.
- If required, how much out of pocket payment you can afford.
Hope these points will help you to some extent to ascertain the HMO coverage for your family.
Take care,

| Hi! Lemme tell you something very frankly…being a member of an HMO…you have to maintain a PCP (primary care physician)….it offers you a general care & offers suggestions regarding other physicians. As a result of all these the expenses towards the screening are lessened. Regards, fatman |

IMO you should get in touch with a health agent. Its not only hard but impossible to give you quotes without knowing the details, like- your age, health, pre-existing condition, smoking/drinking habit and so forth. All these facts are important in determining your insurability.
However, you may visits the sites of different health insurers- Aetna, Humana, Blue Cross and Blue Shield etc. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |
